Fingerprint time and attendance
The drawback of RFID technology has been edged out by fingerprint time and attendance system. Even though RFID have a proven track record, like rest of the technology RFID also has its disadvantages.
Disadvantages of RFID:
- Buddy Punching- Collegue/co-worker can punch the card for the other as physical presence goes out of mandate.
- Losing card- Losing RFID card causes problems as the employee/s have to approach the admin for the re-issue.
Fingeprrint helps the companies in eliminating the above drawbacks to effectively maintain and record time and attendance of an employee/s.
Importance of Fingerprint Time and Attendance
There were days when the supervisors used to keep a manual pen and paper to record the time and attendance of employees. This attendance system is still used by a lot of people to record the most mundane and important thing of an office's managing staff. These old ways of monitoring time and attendance were often flawed and had many issues which could directly affect the security of a place. Keeping such records was a tedious and time consuming task.
Now that the times are evolving, companies are also starting to use this new technology where they have better solutions to measure the actual time of coming and working hours of the employees. In this new technology, they've been using the new fingerprint time and Attendance system that records the attendance and time of coming in of an employee which is recorded and can later be used for managerial purposes.
This is a much secured, fast and better alternative to use than using paper cards and spreadsheets for attendance. This uses a highly reliable and secure way of monitoring attendance, which is through the fingerprint recognition. Even the simplest of its device uses the fingerprint recognition technology to scan the fingerprint of each employee uniquely and also records the time of when the employee came in or went out. The newest of these systems are evolving and are prone to scan the fingerprint even when they have grease, dirt, sweat or any other kind of moisture that can affect the fingerprint.
